Economic Development in Guiyang

Economic Development: In 2006 the output value in Guiyang reached 60.288 billion yuan with an increase of nearly 14.7% over that of 2005, the highest rise over the several past years. It surpassed the breakthrough point of 60 billion yuan. The disposable personal income went up 12.8% to 11200 yuan. The local financial revenue amounted to 7.715 billion yuan, up 23.45%. The retail value of social consumption goods was 23.6 billion yuan increased by 16% over that of 2005.

Investment: An all-round, multi-level and extensive format in investment have been formed in Guiyang. Several international enterprises among Global 500, such as Wal-mart and Microsoft from U.S., Kyocera from Japan, Danone Group from France, SNECMA from France, Lafarge Group from France, Chia Tai Group from Thailand, have invested in Guiyang. Some enterprises listed in domestic top 500 have settled in Guiyang, such as Hisence from Qingdao, Xiyang fertilizer company, Shangdong Yanzhou mining company and Hangzhou Wahaha company, etc..The investment promotion has been intensified, and the scale of import & export has been extended and the structure of import & export commodities has been optimized.

In 2006 Guiyang absorbed 1626 domestically-invested projects with the actual invested capital of 20.96 billion yuan, an year on year increase of 30.2%; 26 foreign-invested projects have been approved with the actual direct foreign capital utilized is USD 70.10 million, up 16% over the last year. The big projects with over 50 million yuan investment capital amounted to 101. The consecutive import and export revenue realized by the municipal enterprises was USD 650 million, an year on year increase of 11.8%, which was 8.6% more than the average rise in the country. The export and import value went up by 33.6% and 29.8% respectively to USD 460 million yuan and USD 190 million yuan.
