BEIJING -- The following is a biographical sketch of Ismail Tiliwaldi, who was on Saturday elected vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC): Ismail Tiliwaldi Male, born in November 1944, of Uygur ethnic group, native of Kashgar of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; Joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in May 1973. Started working in September 1967. Graduated from major of mathematics department of Xinjiang University, university education.
