5.5-magnitude quake hits Taiwan

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted Taiwan at 3:18 pm Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 23.40 km, was initially determined to be at 21.1758 degrees north latitude and 121.0668 degrees east longitude.
