BEIJING - The following is the biographical sketch of Li Jianguo:

Li Jianguo, born in April 1946, is a male ethnic Han from Juancheng, Shandong Province. He entered the workforce in September 1969 and joined the CPC in June 1971. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Shandong University with a major in Chinese language and literature.

He is currently a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice chairman and concurrently secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh NPC and member of its Leading Party Members' Group.
