A primary school vice-principal has been arrested on suspicion of killing a 6-year-old girl in Hebei province, China News Service reported on Wednesday.

According to police in Laiyuan county, on July 27, Yang Haijun tricked the girl into getting into his car, then brought her home and killed her.

Earlier media reports said that Yang had raped the girl, but local police didn't specify whether a rape took place. Beijing News reported on Monday that the girl was found naked, her mouth sealed with adhesive tape.

The public security bureau of Baoding is conducting an autopsy.
