BERLIN: Players who are injured the weekend before an international will have to report for checks by an England team doctor before pulling out, manager Fabio Capello said on Tuesday.

His squad for Wednesday's friendly in Germany, already looking thin, was further hit when midfielders Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were hurt in weekend Premier League games.

Gerrard was asked to travel from Liverpool to London for a check by an England doctor before being excused while Chelsea's Lampard was also examined.
