"I have no doubt that the Third Global Outsourcing Summit was an important milestone in the history of the global service outsourcing industry," said Zhu Shanlu, the secretary of Nanjing Party Committee, after the successful completion of the event in his home city in September of this year.

With the current global financial crisis very much in mind, the summit took "Global Outsourcing's Role in Promoting the Optimum Allocation of Global Resources during the Great Economic Transformation" as its keynote theme. This provided fresh opportunities for Chinese and overseas outsourcing businesses to discuss a number of possible future projects.

The Asia-Pacific CEO Association and the International Outsourcing Center's global chairman, the former French prime minister, Dominique de Villepin, said in his opening speech: "Outsourcing is a gateway for the new economy. Innovative ideas and a high level of creativity are no longer concentrated in the United States, Europe and Japan. The new economy, with technology and knowledge at its core, has provided developing countries with unprecedented business opportunities."
