The Asahi Glass Co (AGC) has around 50,000 employees in nearly 30 countries worldwide and is looking for further growth in the Chinese market. "China has become a very important market and I wouldn't be surprised if our sales there doubled or even tripled in the next few years," commented Masayuki Kamiya, the AGC Group's chief representative for China.

China has the fastest growing market in the world and AGC provides architectural glass, automotive glass, and photovoltaic glass for solar panels, among other products, for that market.

It has 11 subsidiaries there and will soon open its first processing line of glass substrates for LCD panels.
