The Global Collection of the Chinese Spring Festival Symbols was launched in the Great Hall of the People on Sunday, encouraging artists to contribute their work of Spring Festival symbols.
The symbols, which can either be two - or three-dimensional, should be vivid and relate to traditional Lunar New Year customs. Applicants can get more information and download the application form from the official website Chunjiefuhao.com.
The deadline is Aug 31 and 50 works will be chosen. The champion will win the title of "Chinese Spring Festival Symbol" and a 500,000 yuan ($83,000) cash prize. The 10 runner-ups will each receive 10,000 yuan.
