The 2017 International Coin and Medal Art Exhibition kicked off in Shanghai last week.

The exhibition features more than 460 medals from 21 countries, covering various subjects, including history, culture, folk custom, music and sport.

Visitors are able to appreciate the evolution of embossment techniques and learn of cultural histories from around the globe.

The event will run through Oct 27 and admission is free.
