Matchmaking agencies open to all

Individual citizens may now open matchmaking agencies, according to Shanghai
Morning Post.
Authorities, however, have set strict requirements for prospective
matchmakers.
Agency owners should possess at least 100,000 yuan (US$12,081) in primary
capital as well as a degree from a tertiary institution. And each agency should
employ four to five intermediaries.
To date, there are 63 such agencies operating in the city, half of which are
supported by individuals.
