Old newspapers make popular gifts

Citizens in Nanning have found a unique way to commemorate the birthdays or
wedding anniversaries of their relatives and friends - by giving copies of
newspapers issued on the day they were born or got married, Nanguo Morning Post
reports.
Xiao Tan from Liuzhou received a Liuzhou Daily newspaper dated December 6,
1980 from her friends on her 23rd birthday this year.
Xiao said that the paper was the most meaningful birthday present she had
ever received.
Huang, a computer firm employee, sent a copy of a People's Daily published on
the day his parents wed to his mother and father as an anniversary gift.
The couple often take the paper out to reminisce about what happened on their
wedding day.
