1978 World Cup winner Menotti in talks with Independiente

(file) Menotti, 66, was reported to have held talks with Independiente, the Argentine first division side he has already managed twice in the past decade. Independiente director Julio Comparada confirmed: "Negotiations are very advanced and we've reached agreement although there's still some fine details to work out." Menotti, who has a reputation for producing exciting attacking sides, has been out of the gamesince a spell at Rosario Central in 2002. He was manager of Barcelona between 1982 and 1984 before stints with Atletico Madrid and Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.
