Airbus predicts China will become the second largest aviation market after the United States in the next two decades.

Airbus China Chief Executive Laurence Barron says the world's largest aircraft manufacturer may deliver nearly 1,800 airplanes to China in the next 20 years, averaging 90 airplanes a year.

The sales volume accounts for 11 percent of the total orders by the company's global customers.

Barron says China will need at least 200 of the largest airplanes over the next two decades, such as the long-haul super-jumbo Airbus A380, whose catalog price lists at US$275 million.
