Peking University graduate student runs away A Peking University graduate student ran off from school more than three weeks ago after being rejected by a girl and has not been seen since, authorities revealed. Liu Jianfeng, a 28-year-old in second year of graduate school studying information management, took off Aug. 15. His father said he apparently was also worried about his career plans. The student's family has traveled to Beijing from Liu's hometown in Jiangxi Province to search for him, the Beijing Daily Messenger reported. The family said the day before Liu disappeared, Liu's tutor called to say the student "was not quite of himself" and asked for the father to travel to Beijing to speak to Liu. But as the parents made their way to the university, Liu ran away. He left his cell phone, wallet and various documents at his dormitory. Security officials at the university said Liu hovered around the campus on the evening of August 15, apparently despondent and with a vacant expression on his face. Liu's father has been searching for the young man since the family arrived, asking Liu's acquaintances for information and sending out notices around the campus. The school has also mobilized staff and students to search for Liu. Police are carrying out an investigation. Chinese psychological experts say it is not wise for those in difficulty to
simply run away, and that confronting frustrations in daily life is
healthier.
