Real win late, Raul nets 50; Liverpool, Chelsea draw
Real Madrid 2-1 Olympiakos MADRID, Spain (AP) -- Raul Gonzalez scored his 50th Champions League goal in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Olympiakos at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Wednesday.
Substitute Roberto Soldado brought Madrid its first points in the group by heading the winner in the 86th after his initial header from a cross from Beckham was parried by goalkeeper Antonios Nikopolidis. Midfielder Pantelis Kafes scored for the Greek champion in the 48th. Madrid defender Sergio Ramos was ejected in injury time after clashing with Olympiakos substitute Ioannis Okkas. "I think we should have won the game before halftime," Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo was quoted as saying by news agency Efe. "I told the players this in the locker room. We had five or six chances and we only scored one. "I knew all about Soldado, he went on tour with us and he scored a lot of
goals. I brought him on because of the way the game was going. He's good close
to goal and he was fresh," Luxemburgo added.
