CMP Asia Awarded a Caring Company for the sixth year

CMP Asia, the leading trade fair organiser in the region, is awarded a "Caring Company (2008/09)"by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. This is the sixth year that CMP Asia was given this recognition. The award presentation was held on 10 February at the Caring Company Award Presentation Ceremony officiated by Mr John Tsang, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong.
The award is commendation to companies and organisations that have been caring for the community through giving cash or in-kind, taking better care of their employees and their families, caring for the environment, volunteering, offering training and employment opportunities to the disadvantaged groups and transferring professional skills to enhance the operational efficiency of the non-profit organisations. The nomination of CMP Asia was made by the Association for Engineering and Medical Volunteer Services for which CMP Asia has been providing training and work opportunities throughout the years, such as data entry for the Association's service users, including ex-mentally ill and physically handicapped persons.
Jimé Essink, CEO of CMP Asia said: "We are very honoured to be able to contribute to the society by providing the disadvantaged group the opportunities to show their ability and to earn their living. The association tells us that the confidence and self-esteem of their service users have been increased. We strongly believe that a caring culture in the community benefits everyone."The Caring Company Scheme was first organised in 2002/03. The mission of the scheme is to build a caring community spirit through cultivating corporate citizenship and strategic partnership between the business and social service sectors.
