Invitation cards to designer Zhang Da's latest show resemble the key rings used in the lockers of Chinese public swimming pools in the 1980s and 90s. But the pool party-inspired spring and summer collection is way ahead of its time, if not futuristic. The white one-piece with the Chinese characters nan (male) and nv (female) written in a childlike hand, resembling the signs for changing rooms, got the most attention. The small, checkered mini dress is the piece I would actually want to throw on over my swimsuit.
