Yalong Bay

Yalong Bay, also known as Yalong Bay National Resort, is a beach located southeast of Sanya city, in southern Hainan. It is known for its clean and silver white fine sand, which is perfect to walk on, and comfortable to lie down for a sunbath. There are many internationally operated hotels at the resort, including St Regis Yalong Bay Resort, Sheraton Sanya Resort, Marriott Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Sanya Resort, etc.

Coconut rice is a dish prepared by soaking white rice in coconut milk, it is a widely eaten food in southeast Asia. But Hainan coconut rice is different, as it is usually cooked within a coconut. The locals would crack a hole at the top of a coconut, the hole is then filled with glutinous rice and dried coconut meat. Once filled, the coconut is boiled for several hours before cut into pieces. Fillings for coconut rice vary from place to place, sometimes it is filled with chicken meat.
