Local officials are said to be trying to clear congestion at ports to get more food to the rest of the country. Up to 1,000 tons of food a day are now being handled, up from 500 a few weeks ago. A recent report shown on the BBC highlighted the harrowing problems being faced in Ethiopia and led to an overwhelming public response.
