Bus incident

A woman got on a bus holding
a baby. The bus driver looked at the child and blurted out, "that's the ugliest
baby I 've ever seen!"
Infuriated , the woman slammed her fare into the
fare box and took an aisle seat near the rear of the bus. The man seated next to
her sensed that she was agitated and asked her what was wrong.
"The bus
driver insulted me,"she fumed.
The man sympathized and said, "Why, he
shouldn't say things to insult passengers. He could be fired for
that."
"You're right ," she said. "I think I'll go back up there and give
him a piece of my mind!"
"That's a good idea," the man said. "Here, let
me hold your monkey."
Words and phrases：
1. blurt out：
未加思索地沖口說出，突然說出
如果想表示某人“脫口而出，不慎沖口說出” ，也可以用這一表達法，很地道哦！ 例如，In his anger, he
blurted out the secret.
2. infuriated ：full of
fury（激怒的，十分生氣的）
例如： He looked really infuriated when he saw how much the work

3. agitated ： 焦躁不安的，狂躁激動的
(該詞主要側重在表示“激動和焦躁方面”， 近義詞是disturbed 和 nervous) ，例如： She got very agitated.
4. fumed ：怒氣沖沖，煩躁惱怒的 （at ,about over），例如：fume at a
delay（因延誤而盛怒）；She always fumes when the mail is late.

5. slam
：猛力投擲，猛力放置（為了弄出很大的聲音而放、扔或做其它有力的運動），例如：slammed the book on the

此外，告訴大家一個關于aisle 的口語表達方式，“down the aisle”（結婚），因為aisle 亦為
“教堂的側廊”。 例如，The parents hoped that the oldest of their daughters would be the
first down the aisle. 父母希望其長女第一個成婚。

“狠狠教訓他一頓”
