Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, filed for divorce Friday after 17 years of marriage.
"Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17 year marriage," the couple said in a statement issued through the lawyers. "A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today."
Juanita Jordan previously filed for divorce in January 2002, but withdrew herpetitiona month later when the couple announced they were attempting a reconciliation.
During her last divorce petition, Juanita said attempts to reconcile their marriage had failed and future ones "would be impractical and notin the best interests ofthe family."
The couple met at a Chicago restaurant during his second season with the Bulls and were married Sept. 2, 1989, in Las Vegas. They have three children: Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine.
The 43-year-old Jordan, a part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, led the Bulls to six NBA titles and was a five-time league MVP. He lives in Highland Park, Ill.

喬丹與胡安妮塔在通過(guò)雙方律師發(fā)表的一份聲明中表示：“邁克爾·喬丹和胡安妮塔·喬丹經(jīng)友好協(xié)商，決定結(jié)束兩人17年的婚姻生活。離婚判決從即日起生效。”
胡安妮塔·喬丹曾于2002年1月提出離婚訴訟，但一個(gè)月后又撤回了訴狀，并表示她和喬丹正在嘗試調(diào)解。
胡安妮塔說(shuō)，上一次的調(diào)解并沒(méi)有成功，所以今后再進(jìn)行調(diào)解“也沒(méi)什么意義，而且對(duì)整個(gè)家庭也沒(méi)什么好處”。
喬丹和胡安妮塔在芝加哥的一個(gè)餐館相識(shí)，當(dāng)時(shí)喬丹正在公牛隊(duì)打第二個(gè)賽季。兩人于1989年9月2日在拉斯維加斯結(jié)婚，之后生了三個(gè)孩子：杰弗里、馬庫(kù)斯和“茉莉”。
43歲的喬丹目前是NBA夏洛特山貓隊(duì)的合伙人，他曾帶領(lǐng)芝加哥公牛隊(duì)奪得六屆NBA總冠軍，并五次獲得聯(lián)盟“最有價(jià)值球員”的稱(chēng)號(hào)。喬丹現(xiàn)居住在伊里諾斯州的高地花園區(qū)。
