Driver fined for refusing disabled woman a ride

A bus driver in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, was fined 100 yuan ($15) for refusing an 80-year-old woman in a wheelchair to get on his bus on Sunday.

According to Xia, the woman's daughter, the driver refused to let her bring her wheelchair-bound mother on board the bus, saying it would take up too much space.

Xia phoned the police and the bus company, who fined the driver and asked him to apologize to the old woman.
