The 4th World Jilin Entrepreneurs Convention was held in Changchun, Northeast China’s Jilin province, from Aug 24 to 25. More than 700 Jilin entrepreneurs attended to discuss cooperation.

This year’s convention consisted of 10 events, including an investment and cooperation meeting, an opening ceremony, a forum for Jilin entrepreneurs, and a number of visits to various locations. The purpose of the event was to promote Jilin and introduce more projects to the province.

The convention was launched in 2016 and has been held annually since then. It aims to attract investment from Jilin-born entrepreneurs now doing businesses around the world.

Since 2016, a total of 81 associations for Jilin entrepreneurs have been established globally, and the number of Jilin entrepreneurs has exceeded 1.8 million. These entrepreneurs have invested around 250 billion yuan ($35.25 billion) in Jilin province.

Wang Yan, vice-chairman of the Jilin Entrepreneurs Association, said during the event that this year Jilin entrepreneurs have launched many key projects in the province, including the building of a global Jilin entrepreneurs center in Changchun, which will work to attract investment to the province. A Chinese herbal medicine testing center will also be established in Changchun.

Many entrepreneurs have shown interest in investing in their hometown, as the province’s business environment is becoming increasingly attractive to investors.
