A lightning protection system on Tianzhu Mountain, Anhui province, passed an acceptance test on July 29. After going into use, the system will protect people in the scenic area against lightning.
The project was launched in August 2012 and completed in March 2013. Along the three main tourist routes, Mystery Valley, Zongguan and Lotus Peak, 18 protection spots were built to ensure comprehensive protection. The protection system was designed to limit any impact on nature.
Meanwhile, the system allows the local meteorological department to monitor weather in the scenic area for thunderstorms. The warning messages will be instantly published on multiple platforms including text messages, WeChat, broadcast and online.
