Sunbase International (Holdings) is a comprehensive multinational investment conglomerate whose businesses cover finance and capital operations, air transport, new energy, compound semiconductors, the information industry, biotechnology, and property management.
Dr. Gunter Gao has served as a member of the eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, as well as vice-chairman of the Subcommittee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports of the CPPCC National Committee. He is also a member of the Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive and Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Council and chairman of the Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, the Association of Chinese Culture of Hong Kong, the Cultural Association of Hong Kong, and the China and Hong Kong Trade and Investment Promotion Association Limited. He is employed as a senior economic adviser for the governments of Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Yunnan, Jilin and Hubei.
Sunbase’s business encompasses five key sectors, namely, investment management and capital operations, urban services and property management, transport and infrastructures, energy and mineral resources, and high-tech compound semiconductors and the optoelectronics industry.
Other than Hong Kong, the US and Australia, which are key locations of the conglomerate's business operations, Sunbase also has extensive investment activities in the Chinese mainland and Southeast Asia. Based on different investment fields, Sunbase has established corresponding holding companies and investment enterprises. The group and its various affiliate companies directly control total assets of over HK$60 billion ($7.74 billion).
