Abstract：
The article makes an analysis of the potentiality for offshore RMB transactions on Hong Kong market. The significance for the development of offshore RMB transactions on Hong Kong market is that it could bring the oversea circulated RMB into the banking system so that the supervision authority could find out the changing volume of the oversea circulated RMB and form a market-based index for the interest rate and exchange rate of RMB. At present, it could also alleviate the pressure on the appreciation of RMB. As regards Hong Kong market, it could provide the basis and a platform for the overall offshore RMB transactions in the future through the establishment and enforcement of the financial infrastructure in Hong Kong.
