Abstract: Over the past five years since the “Belt and Road Initiative” was initiated, the central enterprises have actively responded to in the construction projects of the Initiative, received remarkable results in many aspects and accumulated rich experience in both theory and practice. However, these enterprises are facing some problems and challenges arising from both home and abroad in future participation of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. International problems and challenges include political and geopolitical risks, market financial risks and differences in industry standards in the host countries, while the domestic problems and challenges include issues such as international management ability, personnel support, peer competition and proper response to public issues. Efforts need to be made to optimize the protection of core interests overseas; strive to extend China's standards’ presence overseas; enhance the exchange of experience and guide the central enterprises to boost their internal forces; flesh out the assessment mechanism for overseas investment management of central enterprises and provide targeted policy support through multiple channels; improve the relevant mechanism to ensure the dispatching of employees from central enterprises to work overseas in a proper manner and actively cultivate talents with a global vision; strengthen coordination and supervision to avoid vicious competition between peers; promote mutual understanding between the people and help the central enterprises to move forward with further communications.
