Abstract: With the economic and social development, college graduates working at community-level organizations are required to have comprehensive abilities and qualities. Viewing from the research results, college graduates obtain abilities and qualities mainly through various ways and different measures. However, some graduates could get their abilities enhanced through completing community work while others failed to do so due to weak capacity. Joint efforts are needed to cultivate college graduates’ abilities and qualities so as to enable them not only to fulfill their workload, but also gain a sense of accomplishment for their working performance at the community-level organizations. First, colleges and universities need to lay emphasis on ability training. Apart from specialized courses and disciplines, schools need to strengthen the cultivation of students on how to handle document writing with the aid of computer network technology, give guidance on career arrangements and roll out social work practice projects. Second, some experienced social workers could be invited to work as tutors in community-level organizations. They could pass on their vocational knowledge to the graduates and tell them how to deal with difficult cases by way of citing examples. College graduates could accordingly master more knowhow and better adapt to community-level working environment. Third, community-level organizations need to place relevant responsibilities on shoulders of the college graduates, and give them more right for more say in community affairs so that they could have more opportunities for practice and their ability to solve practical problems could be improved. Fourth, college graduates need to keep on learning to scale up their capabilities for addressing various practical issues.
