Abstract: Carrying on and developing the “Fengqiao Experience” in the new era is the key to solving the dilemma of grassroots social governance, which stands the test of time over nearly 60 years of development. Zhejiang, Beijing and many other places have grasped the new characteristics of grassroots disputes, constantly explored the ways and measures of mass work in the new era, and accumulated many good practical cases and experiences. These mainly include the following: constructing county-level dispute resolution centers with the guidance of overall governance; building multiple dispute resolution sourcing mechanism with the guidance of source governance; improving the self-governance mechanism of grassroots mass discussion with the guidance of consultative governance; and establishing a “online platform for multiple resolution to disputes” with the guidance of digital governance. Practices show that in order to effectively resolve the grassroots disputes, the following principles should be adhered to: sticking to the Party’s overall leadership and consolidating the political guarantee for grassroots governance; sticking to the people-oriented mass line of the Party; sticking to the integration of self-governance, the rule of law and the rule of virtue and constantly innovating the good governance pathway at the grass roots level; sticking to the shared responsibility in construction and governance to improve the governance of community step by step; and sticking to strong digital capacity with powerful technological support.
