The Fujian Provincial Business Conference opened in Fuzhou on Jan 22. Zheng Xiaosong, deputy governor of Fujian province, delivered a speech at the conference, DNKB.com reported on Jan 22.

Fujian’s annual import and export value grew 8.6 percent year-on-year to reach $169.35 billion. Annual export sales surpassed $100 billion for the first time to reach $105.6 billion. The annual import value grew 8.2 percent year-on-year to reach $62.85 billion.

Fujian approved 840 foreign investment projects in 2013, with foreign investment in actual use hitting $6.68 billion. Trade volume between Fujian and Taiwan increased 7.4 percent in 2013.

Trade volume in 2014 is expected to grow 7 percent, while foreign investment in actual use is expected to increase 5 percent.
