China's National Beach Volleyball Tournament, which also serves as the qualifiers for the 13th National Games of China in North China's Tianjian later this year, is scheduled to be held in Pingtan, Fujian province from May 18 to 21.

A total of 36 professional teams from across the country shall compete on Longfoutou Beach, the largest natural bathing beach in China.

As the second stop of the tour, this is the first time Pingtan has held a high-profile national game, and shall introduce a number of new features.

A special zone shall be set up for VIP spectators where they can drink beers and eat snacks while watching the game. It is a common practice in western countries but this shall be a first for China’s National Beach Volleyball Tournament.
