The 2019 Shishi Fashion Week opened in Shishi, East China's Fujian province on April 17.

The fashion week, scheduled to run until April 20, gathered a number of promising young fashionistas and award-winners including Hong Liu Yong, winner of the Golden Thimble Award, China's top prize for garment design.

The four-day event will have different focuses on each day, with themes ranging from original design and e-commerce brands to Fujian children’s outfits and fashion buyers.

Meanwhile, various fashion shows will be held on its sidelines, creating audiovisual treats for visitors.

Among them, the release of excellent garments by university students and the Fujian-Hong Kong attire design contest are set to establish a platform of communication and exchange for designers to inject fresh blood into the Chinese design sector.

Shishi city, best-known for its casual wear, is one of the hotbeds of China's fashion industry.
