There were also exhibitions from abroad. Among them, New Zealand's "five-star green building" was a major attraction. As much as 94.5 percent of the building uses recycled materials. The building has no carpet or air-conditioning system and relies on natural air circulation and a solar heating water system. It enables 90 percent of users to have natural light illumination. The toilets and landscaping mainly use collected rainwater.
The organizers also demonstrated a series of energy saving skills in daily life that could lead people into a low carbon era. The exhibition has drawn a large number of visitors and stimulated no less curiosity than the Shanghai Expo 2010.
"More and more participants and visitors are attending the green fair. This shows that energy-saving and low-carbon life philosophy is gradually gaining public support." Wengyu Yao, deputy director of the Fujian Committee of Municipal and Rural Construction, told China Daily.
The China (Straits) International Green Energy Forum was held in Fuzhou on June 18 as part of the province's General Assembly.
