Pingnan trying its best to weave insurance net

"I only have to commit 1,000 yuan once a year,then I’ll be given access to the insurance net while the government would refund me 50 yuan plus 20 yuan for extra support," Zhang Yun laughed. What Zhang described here was the new insurance net tailor-made for farmers in Pingnan county, Fujian province.

The Pingnan government is going to 'weave' a sound and complete insurance net package for its residents, mainly farmers, before the end of September this year. The program will be up and running on October. 1.

To encourage farmers to join the program, the Pingnan government will introduce incentives. The townships or villages that manage to sign up all its residents first will be awarded 50,000, 30,000 or 20,000 yuan.
