Fujian province plans to establish four industrial design parks in Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou and the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone as well as 30 industrial design centers across the province by 2015, sources from the provincial economic and trade commission said on Wednesday.

Fujian is one of the nation's key manufacturing bases of shoes, ceramics, water heaters, electronic information devices and machinery equipment. The items provide a solid foundation for industrial design businesses, said the commission.

Industrial design companies are growing in the province. There are about 40 professional companies specializing in industrial design in Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Xiamen, the commission said.
