A Pingtan resident called Zheng Fei has become the first member of the public in the county to receive HDTV.

Zheng lives in the World City community, the first pilot community for digital TV transformation, which received the high-definition signals after finalizing a deal with the local TV station.

Zheng seemed very happy with the service, which started on August 22, saying that the image is so clear that you can see the pores on people's faces.

The local TV station plans to expand HDTV service to another 7 communities in Pingtan in the second half of the year.
