The elevators and escalators across Pingtan county, East China's Fujian province, underwent a security checkup recently, reported the Pingtan Times.

The local bureau of quality supervision said they have completed examining as many as 827 elevators and escalators in 178 agencies across 15 townships.

The bureau ordered repairs for three elevators and suspended another two. Altogether 35 elevators were required to receive examinations on a regular basis.
