A total of 521 households in Pingtan, Fujian province, will be able to select their preferred public rental housing from Dec 9 to 12, said authorities.

The candidates are from 15 townships in Pingtan. 442 of them applied for two-bedroom apartments and 79 for one-bedroom ones.

There will be another 17 households in a reserve pool, meaning they will get a chance to select their ideal apartments too if any one of the 521 candidates quits or changes their mind on house types.

The open selection will be held at Qilin Hotel.
