Pingtan, Fujian province is currently preparing for the venue at its Pingtan-Taiwan Duty-free Commodity Market for the Miss World Final candidates' debut on Dec 3, ptnet.cn reported on Dec 1.

Local authorities said that the visit of Miss World participants will help promote the county's tourist resources to the world and will also help realize its goal of becoming an international tourist island.

A local official mentioned that the venue, featuring blue and white will consist of three parts – an outdoor area, a runway for talent performances and an area for a cocktail party. Workers are now proceeding with the construction of the runway.

In order to reach the goal of tourism promotion, pictures of Pingtan's tourist sites will be displayed at the venue, the official added.

In addition, local authorities will sign a contract with the Miss World Organization to commission this year's champion as its image ambassador.
