Authorities in Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province announced on Jan 6 that a total of 34 new investment programs have started construction in the zone during the period between last August and December.

The new programs included a high-tech industrial park, a project invested by the Fujian Investment Group, regional headquarter construction of China's leading auto rental provider CAR Inc among others.

Officials said that such programs came from an investment fair held in Pingtan in last August and accounted for nearly half of the 76 programs that signed at the fair.

The high efficiency of promoting the implementation of the programs was due to local departments' cooperation and coordination. The authorities said that they worked together on difficulties and problems to ensure that the programs can be completed as early as possible.

According to the authorities, they will do more to promote the implementation of the remaining 42 programs.

They also said that?the total 76 programs brought in a combined investment of 173.6 billion yuan ($26.5 billion), which will contribute to the development of the zone.
