Seven companies from Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone recently made it onto the list of Fujian Technological Enterprise, ptnet.cn reported on March 22.

This is the first time that Pingtan companies are among the list. The ones who made into the list are -- Chenhong Technology (Pingtan) Co, Fujian Xinyang Eco-agriculture Development Co, Fuzhou Jinfulin Food Co, Pingtan Aquatic Varieties Experiment Co, Fujian Hengxiang Fishery Co, Fuzhou Lvyang Eco-husbandry Co and Tannan Bay Aquatic Food Co.

There is reward for the firms that won the title of Fujian Technological Enterprise. They will get support in technological projects, investment, financing and incubation. And the enterprises with better development potential will enjoy stronger support, which will help turn them into high-tech ones.

The technological firms will undergo reexamination once every four years. And if they fail, their titles will be cancelled.

Zhang Minghuo, an official of Pingtan social affairs bureau said that the title recognizes a company’s R&D ability. And the corporations conferred with this title are eligible to apply for higher categories.

Meanwhile, Zhang said that the city lacks high-tech and innovative companies. But the title of technological enterprises will push them to invest more in R&D sector and help increase innovation, which is conducive to the area's industrial transformation.
