Two famous sports players Hao Haidong and Guo Chuan visited Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province on March 31 to learn about the zone's sports industry and seek cooperation opportunities.

Hao Haidong is a renowned sports investor and former striker of the national soccer team. Guo Chuan, who stunned the world by finishing his nonstop circumnavigation of the globe in 137 days and 20 hours, is a leading figure in China's modern sailing scene.

They attended a meeting and exchanged ideas about the development of Pingtan's sports industry with Zhou Qingsong, deputy director of PCPZ's administrative committee.

Guo said that Pingtan is a perfect venue for marine sports competitions, such as sailing events. He hoped that the zone will take advantage of its strengths and make itself a significance place for sports events.

Hao said that he wants to build a high-level soccer school in Pingtan and enable more local kids to love soccer. He also hoped that the zone will host more soccer events.

The deputy director of the zone said that Pingtan also wants to develop its sports industry and local authorities will work hard to attract more sports projects.
