The New Silk Road shopping center attracted a deluge of visitors from all around China during its trial operation and opened in Pingtan on July 16.
The World Trade Organisation kicked off a regular review of China's trade policy on Wednesday, enabling members to examine China's trade policy and practices over the past two years.
Some 30 Pingtan merchants gathered to discuss the development of their homeland with local leaders.
Now is the right time to develop Pingtan into an international tourist destination, said Liang Jianyong, vice governor of Fujian province, on June 1 during his visit to the area.
The New Silk Road Cross-Border E-Commerce Trading Center, the first of its kind in Pingtan, Fujian province, will start trial operation as of June 1.
The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province, recently hosted a meeting to discuss school-enterprise cooperation in tourism.
Xu Weize, director of Pingtan's administrative committee, went to Jinjingwan area on May 10, to inspect the progress of a cross-border e-commerce project there.
Pingtan, Fujian province shall take advantage of its island location to make itself a significant place for water sports events, said Yu Zaiqing, vice president of the International Olympic Committee.
