Lavender wedding romanticizes NW China

Jinchang city has the third most abundant nickel ore reserves in the world and is known as the “city of nickel ore”. It produces more than 90 percent of the country’s nickel and platinum group metals.

The city has developed more than 100 mining sites including 15 black metal mines, 21 nonferrous and precious metal mines, and 11 energy mineral sources. Exploited reserves include iron, chromium, nickel, copper, cobalt, gold, silver, platinum, phosphorus, silica, fluorite, bentonite, granite building materials, coal and petroleum.

Jinchang also boasts rich tourist resources, including cultural relics and historic sites such as Yuanyang Pond from the Neolithic Age, the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), numerous tombs of the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), temples from the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), Ming Dynasty bell towers, and ancient architectural complexes.
