The traditional Miao ethnic group's bullfight festival took place in Leishan county, Guizhou province, on Nov 5, the second day of the New Year, according to the Miao calendar.
These bullfights differ from the Spanish version, in that the fight is between two bulls rather than a bull and a man. This year, more than 300 water buffalo from the Guangxi region and Yunnan and Guizhou provinces took part in the competition. The festival lasts to Nov 9.
