Guiyang Symphony announced it will recruit world famous conductor Rico Saccani as its director at a press conference in Guiyang on Aug 30.
Founded in 2009, the symphony orchestra has recruited over a third of its members from countries outside of China, include the UK, US, Italy and France. As the first symphony in Guizhou province, it strives to recruit the most talented musicians by holding recruitment activities around the world.
Prior to joining the Guiyang Symphony, Rico Saccani was the musical director and artistic advisor for the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and was hired as the chief guest conductor at the Hungarian State Opera House.
Rico Saccani first worked with the Guiyang Symphony in 2014 and was impressed by the symphony’s high level of artistry and professional management. He said that the symphony made him feel at home and the working and living conditions in the province would help bring out the best of his musical abilities.
