Some 300 yoga enthusiasts gathered in Guanshanhu Park in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, on June 18 to welcome the approaching International Yoga Day on June 21.
This year will witness the third observance of the day since the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in December, 2014.
Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice. Having its origins in India, the practice aims to transform both body and mind.
Guanshanhu Park boasts various plants and a 600-mu (40-hectare) wetland area. The park is known as the "green lung" of the city's Guanshanhu district.
