Five intelligent manufacturing (IM) projects in Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone in Guiyang city, were recognized as 2019 Guiyang province's IM pilot demonstration projects.
That's according to a list published by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guiyang province on Dec 13.
The Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone -- or GETDZ -- is located in Guiyang, capital of southwestern Guizhou province.
According to local media reports, there were 10 projects in the province selected in the list and the GETDZ projects accounted for half of them.
In recent years, the GETDZ has carried out in-depth pilot demonstration work on intelligent manufacturing involving multiple IM elements.
Zone officials said it has always insisted on supporting product development and service innovation of its enterprises.
They said this had naturally extended to its pursuit of IM -- starting from the goals of reducing operations costs, shortening product development cycles, as well as improving production efficiency, reducing defective product rates and improving energy utilization rates.
Officials said the zone has also promoted the intelligent transformation of resident companies and moved to practically improve the overall intelligent levels of company research and development, production, management and services.
Four of the projects come from the zone's Hisense, Aerospace Electrical Appliances and Sinopharm Group Tongjitang (Guizhou) Pharmaceuticals Co Ltd.
In addition, a pilot demonstration for a flexible intelligent manufacturing workshop for electrical connectors came from the zone's Aerospace Electrical Appliances.
It was selected as a pilot project for intelligent Sino-Germany manufacturing cooperation.
Officials said the number of national intelligent manufacturing pilot projects in the zone accounted for 38.5 percent in the province and 45.5 percent in Guiyang city.
