Organized by Hebei Tourism Bureau, the Hebei Province International Tourism Promotion fair was held in the Marriott Hotel Beijing Northeast on December 8. About 80 people attended the fair, including the officials from the national and Beijing municipal tourism bureau, and representatives from domestic and overseas tourism agencies.

Hebei is promoting two big tourism regions with five distinctive colors: gold royal resorts, silver ice and hot spring resorts, red sacred places of revolution, green mountains and grasslands, and blue sea and islands.

The Vice Director of Hebei Tourism Bureau said that Hebei is now implementing a “2 plus 5” project, refering to a “tourist circle” encompassing 2 municipalities (Beijing and Tianjin) and 5 neighboring provinces (Shandong, Liaoning, Neimeng, Shanxi, and Henan). This tourism circle represents a huge tourism consumer base with a total population of 300 million. In the first ten months of this year, Hebei received 140 million tourists, among which 850 thousand came from overseas, increasing total tourism revenue by more than 20% to 80 billion yuan.

Hebei enjoys rich tourism resources, including 10 historical and cultural cities, 168 national cultural relic protection units, 3 world cultural heritage sites, 24 national forest parks, 2 national geo-parks and 11 state nature reserves. Moreover there are about 1,100 tourism agencies and 600 star hotels.
